Log Cabin
Solveig's Log Cabin quilts span all 40 years of her quilting. One of her first quilts was a hand-quilted Log Cabin for Corey. Her last quilt was a complex Twisted Log Cabin she called "Whirling Dervishes". This last quilt was inspired by dancers she saw on a 2004 Nile cruise. She started work on it at the 2007 Gulf States Quilting Association Baton Rouge seminar in a class led by Bonnie Browning. She resumed work on this quilt in November 2012. The quilt contains over 1300 paper-pieced segments. Solveig longarm quilted this on her Handi-Quilter Avante machine in March 2013, a few weeks before she passed away.
