Hearts
Hearts are another iconic theme in Solveig’s quilts. Solveig's purse always had a small baggie of heart shapes ready to be turned and basted, and she would pull it out whenever her hands were not occupied with something else. Not shown here are the series of heart quilts which others assembled and quilted, using heart squares which Solveig had prepared. These heart quilts were annually raffled off on Valentine’s Day to support the Fredericton homeless shelter.
